Festival Producer
Maeve Devries (she/they) is an Ottawa-born artist and lover of the arts in all of its forms. They recently graduated from the Media Production program at Toronto Metropolitan University and are excited to be taking on more creative endeavours. This is Maeve’s first year with the Youth Infringement Festival. Having been involved in theatre for most of their life, they are jazzed to get more connected to the Ottawa theatre community and support young artists’ journeys. Outside of the festival, Maeve works in marketing and communications at a non-profit, they are the editor of Rebelle Zine, a multiplatform publication that amplifies femme and queer artists, and they are an independent music artist. Day-to-day, you can catch them jamming out, sipping on iced chai lattes, and rewatching their favourite animated series.
Festival Producer
Maggie Harder (they/she) is in her fourth year at Carleton University studying international relations and gender studies. This is their first year with YIF and they are thrilled to be here! Maggie is also no stranger to the Ottawa theatre scene, having performed with Carleton’s theatre society, Sock n Buskin, and Carleton Improv Association, serving as the CIA president this year. She has also been known to grace a comedy open mic or two, and is performing in their first-ever Fresh Meat festival this year! When she is not studying or theatre-ing, they can likely be found making kissy noises at outdoor cats or reading about food science.
General Manager
Jacob (Jake) Nevins (he/him) is an artist, administrator and one-time haunted house ghoul lucky enough to call Ottawa home. Prior to joining the staff at YIF, Jake was a participant in several iterations of the festival, where he’s met folks who continue to inspire him artistically and beyond. As GM, he is thrilled to be able to support this year's staff and participants as they create a great festival of new works for you to enjoy. When not YIF-ing he’s a theatre jake-of-all-trades, year-round cyclist, and devoted caretaker to a hedgehog who could care less about him.
