2020 Production Team
Kel MacDonald holds an Honours BA in Theatre and Classical Studies graduating Magna Cum Laude from University of Ottawa, where she is currently pursuing a Masters degree on the dramaturgy of sexual violence and intimacy in performance. In addition to her work for YIF, she is co-founder and producer of The Precariat, where she recently performed in Jordan Tannahill’s solo show Get Yourself Home Skyler James at Ottawa Fringe 2019. Additional past credits include assistant direction for Swan River at Ottawa International Children’s Festival (Skeleton Key Theatre); stage management for Le Crip Bleu at the undercurrents industry showcase (Stage Left Productions); performing as “Sasha” in Guillaume Saindon’s MFA direction project Oxygen (University of Ottawa); and directing scenes from Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses (University of Ottawa). Additionally Kel has worked for Arts Court Theatre, Ottawa Fringe, Fresh Meat, and subDevision.
Aly Murphy is an Ottawa-based emerging artist, critic, and theatre student, currently in her fourth year at the University of Ottawa. Aly’s academic interests include the life and dramatic canon of British playwright Sarah Kane, the development of new dramatic work, and the dramaturgy of adaptation. Aly’s original musical, Dial Tones, was dramaturged under the 2019 Youth Infringement Festival; her current project, Feast, is currently undergoing development at the University of Ottawa, with an expected public reading in December 2019. A correspondent for Capital Critics Circle in Ottawa, Aly’s writing has been praised as embodying “how women should talk about other women on a public platform.”
